About this chalet rental
You’ll wake up to the cheerful chirping of birds and the rustling of trees, with nothing but greenery as far as the eye can see. Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it? Our cozy nature cabin is located in the heart of De Krieckaert Nature Park, a place where comfort and nature take center stage. When you enter the spacious living room, you can walk right through to the open kitchen, which forms the heart of the cabin. At the back is a pleasant, open space with a double bed (140 cm). With large windows all around, the outdoors always feels close by. Open the double doors and step right out onto the terrace. At the front of the chalet, behind a charming little door, you’ll find a very warmly decorated bedroom with two single beds, which you can easily push together if desired.
All the furniture has been carefully selected, and most of it is secondhand, with a focus on natural, warm materials influenced by brutalism, wabi-sabi, and the Arts and Crafts movement. Plus, some pieces are actually for sale!
Here, you’ll naturally slow down a bit. And your pets are welcome to join you in slowing down! On the fully fenced lot, you can discover various little nooks in the playful, natural garden. At Mosso, inside is outside and outside is inside.
The entrance to the forest? It’s literally just around the corner. Within a few steps, you’ll be walking among the tall trees, while the chalet and its terraces still offer plenty of privacy. The Hoge Kempen surprises anew every season. Vast pine forests, purple heather in late summer, tranquil ponds, and sand dunes alternate one after another. Along the way, you might spot a roe deer, a woodpecker, or a curious squirrel. They even dare to show up right at the chalet!
Thanks to the hundreds of kilometers of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails, there’s a new piece of nature to discover every day. In the mood for some excitement? Gellik is located in the Hasselt–Genk–Maastricht triangle. Three cities that are definitely worth a visit. Landcommanderij Alden Biezen, Railbike Limburg, and Bokrijk are places that capture the imagination. Tongeren, Valkenburg, Aachen, Vaals, Liège, and the Voer region are also easily accessible.
Settle down on a terrace, sample the local cuisine, or browse through one of the many local shops. During the summer months, there are several flea markets.
See you soon?
