House in Auckland
Reasons to book
About this house rental
quiet enclave at the northern end of Ponsonby, just a couple of minutes’ walk from Three
Lamps.
It’s a lovely pocket: a residential street in a small complex of neighbouring homes, so
you get real peace and quiet at the end of the day, with all the energy of Ponsonby
whenever you feel like stepping into it.
The house sits over three levels, which is what makes it work so well for two.
Welcome, and thank you for choosing to stay with us; the whole team at Bespoke Stays is thrilled to host you.
You'll hear from us well before you arrive with everything you need: check-in details, directions, and our recommendations for the neighbourhood. During your stay we're only ever a phone call or message away and happy to help with anything whether it's a local recommendation, or something that needs sorting at the house.
We're here for you throughout your stay, so please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions about the property or the area we'd genuinely much rather you did. Otherwise, we'll leave you to enjoy your stay in peace.
Warmest,
The Bespoke Stays team
Blake Street sits at the quiet northern end of Ponsonby, a couple of minutes’ stroll from
Three Lamps where Ponsonby Road and Jervois Road meet arguably the best-
positioned corner in the inner city, and one of the few places in Auckland where you
genuinely don’t need a car.
Jervois Road is right on your doorstep for your morning coffee, a bottle of wine and
everyday essentials. Ponsonby Road unfolds south from there, lined with cafés, wine
bars, boutiques and some of Auckland’s best restaurants, Ponsonby Central, with its
collection of eateries and weekend browsing, is a pleasant fifteen-minute walk.
Head the other way and in under ten minutes you’re at Point Erin Park and its saltwater
pool, with the Westhaven Marina promenade and the harbour walkway just beyond. St
Marys Bay and Herne Bay are on the doorstep for a leafy morning wander, and Western
Park and Grey Lynn Park are nearby for a run.
It’s a residential street in a quiet pocket, so you get the calm at the end of the day and
the buzz of Ponsonby whenever you want it.
Private access The whole townhouse is yours — all three levels, both balconies and the
garage. It’s a private entrance off the shared driveway, so you come and go entirely on
your own.
The garage has internal access to the house and is where you’ll find the washing
machine, dryer and barbecue, along with room to store bikes and scooters securely. The
owner keeps his car in the garage while he’s away, but there’s space alongside it for one
very small car. Anything larger, and you’ll want to park on the street — Blake Street and
the surrounding streets are generally easy to find a space on, though do check the
signage for any time restrictions.
Digital access Fast unlimited wifi throughout, and the details will be waiting for you on
arrival. The TV in the lounge is a smart TV, so you can sign into your own streaming
accounts. Full check-in instructions, entry details and a digital guide to the house and
the neighbourhood are sent to you before you arrive, so everything you need is on your
phone.
Middle floor — living Open-plan kitchen, dining and living with warm oak floors and a
crisp white designer kitchen — fully equipped, with a dishwasher, oven and plenty of
bench space for cooking properly. The dining table comfortably seats six.
Glass doors fold right back onto a sheltered, tiled balcony with a leafy outlook, so on a fine Auckland
day the whole level opens up to the outdoors. There’s a heat pump for warmth in winter
and cool air through summer, and a daybed by the window that’s a lovely spot to sit with
a book.
Top floor — bedroom, TV lounge and bathroom The bedroom is restful and private,
with a comfortable queen bed, plantation shutters, louvred windows to catch the
breeze, generous wardrobe storage and a leather chaise by the window.
Next door is the separate TV lounge carpeted and cosy, with a large screen and
soundbar, a deep sofa, a swivel armchair, more of the owners’ art, and a small balcony
off it. It’s a lovely space to have when you want to relax somewhere other than the open-
plan living area, and it also doubles nicely as a quiet spot to work.
The bathroom is beautifully finished: full-height stone-look tiling, a walk-in rainfall
shower with a handheld and brushed brass fittings, a floating timber vanity, a backlit
mirror and a heated towel rail.
Ground floor Internal-access garage with a full laundry — washing machine and dryer
— plus a barbecue and plenty of room for bikes and e-scooters.
You can walk almost everywhere from here, which is the real luxury of this address.

The home is over three levels with stairs between each, so it isn’t well suited to
anyone with limited mobility.
The garage is shared with the owner’s parked car while he’s away, so garage parking
suits one very small vehicle only. Street parking is available nearby.
It’s a quiet residential street in a small complex of neighbouring homes, so we ask
guests to keep noise down after 10pm. Not suitable for parties or events.
The home sleeps a maximum of two guests. It is a true one-bedroom the second
upstairs room is set up as a TV lounge rather than a sleeping space.
