The renovation preserved its Sea Ranch-inspired lines, warm cedar paneling, terra-cotta floors, and distinctive architectural character while adding double-glazed windows, full insulation, in-floor heating, and a kitchen designed for gathering.
Perched on piers anchored to the seawall and just feet from the surf, the home is considered the closest residence to the ocean on the Santa Barbara coast. Nearly every window frames the Pacific, with views of blue water, passing dolphins, seals sunning on the rocks, and seabirds gliding by.
