A very comfortable stay with a lovely family. The place is located a bit away from Karakol, and is a very calm place. The host was very helpful and proactively communicated with us using yandex translate since she didn't speak any English and we didn't speak Russian/Kyrgyz. The 2 daughters were also very friendly and helpful. As a bonus, the host also helped set up a vegetarian breakfast with boiled vegetable salad :)

The shower acts up a bit. It doesn't mix hot and cold water. Instead it bursts hot water and cold water one after the other in 2 seconds interval. It wasn't much of a problem for us. But it might be in winters. But they also have a bath tub, if you're using that, you wouldn't face this issue.

Stayed one night here before heading out on the Kara-Kol hike, and I was really happy with the atmosphere. The place feels genuinely local and authentic. The rooms were great, but the food was the real highlight. All the ingredients were fresh, with the vegetables coming straight from Bakhtygul's garden, and even the milk tasted like it came from their own cow. It's a bit further out from the centre, but worth it if you enjoy walking through the greener areas around town. From the guesthouse it was easy to grab a taxi into the centre. Highly recommended, and a lovely family business.
