About this lodge

Stay in the Cèilidh Room at The Glengarry Inn — the largest room in a beautifully restored 1880s heritage property in Northern Cape Breton, just 7 minutes from the Cabot Trail. Sleeps four across a queen bed and two twin beds, with a kitchenette and the inn's only private deck — your own outdoor space with unobstructed mountain and ocean views over Aspy Bay.

THE ROOM

The Cèilidh Room takes up the third floor of the inn — spacious, light-filled, and designed with families and small groups in mind. Named for the Celtic tradition of gathering that defines Cape Breton culture, it's a room that was made for people to be together in.

What you'll find:

— Queen bed plus two twin beds (sleeps 4 comfortably)
— Private deck with seating and unobstructed mountain and ocean views — this is where you'll want your morning coffee
— Kitchenette with Keurig coffee maker, two mini fridges, and the basics for simple meals
— Private en-suite bathroom with shower
— Air conditioning for warm nights
— Smart TV and fast WiFi throughout
— Hair dryer, fresh towels, and quality linens
— Free parking on site

No elevator — just three flights of stairs and a view that makes it worth every step.

The kitchenette is equipped to prepare simple meals and snacks. We don't serve food at the inn, but good food is never far — ask us, and we'll point you to the right places.

THE INN

The Glengarry was built in 1880 and has been a place for people to stay and gather ever since — a lodge, a general store, a community meeting place. The original 19th-century general store on the ground floor is still largely intact and now serves as a small on-site museum, which we love showing guests around. It's the kind of detail that makes a stay here feel different from anywhere else.

THE LOCATION

You're in Dingwall, a small fishing village on the north shore of Cape Breton. From the Cèilidh Room's private deck, you can see clear across Aspy Bay to the mountains — one of the better views available from any rental in Northern Cape Breton. North Harbour Beach is a five-minute walk. The Cabot Trail begins 7 minutes away by car.
