About this house rental
A Centuries-Old Village House
MORE THAN JUST A PLACE TO STAY—AN EXPERIENCE
When we talk about “La Quadra,” we’re not just referring to a tourist lodging, like any other. The century-old house known as “La Quadra” offers those who have the privilege of enjoying it a life experience that is hard to compare to any other. An experience that, in a completely natural and effortless way, takes us back to our deepest roots and those of our ancestors, which adds yet another touch of melancholy.
It would be easy to think that, in the end, it’s just another house from the beginning of the last century, but in reality, “La Quadra” has the power to transport us to the most distant memories of our childhood and the childhoods of our fathers, mothers, grandfathers, and grandmothers, since “La Quadra” is filled with small details that, taken together, bring to life a bygone era that can be relived without even having to close your eyes.
MORE THAN JUST A HOUSE, A SMALL MUSEUM
“La Quadra” is a house that, thanks to the preservation of its ceilings and walls in their original condition, has the ability to tell many stories. The paintings and artwork are also originals and have been fully restored, reflecting the character of a village house from the early 20th century.
The house features:
4 bedrooms: two doubles and two triples, plus a high-quality double sofa bed on the first floor.
Three bathrooms, one per floor, with a sink on the first floor and two bathrooms with showers and all amenities on each floor.
Two kitchens. A kitchen on the first floor, in addition to the large kitchen in the dining room on the first floor.
All kinds of furniture, such as sideboards, wardrobes, beds, nightstands, dressers, tables, chairs, desks, secreters, trunks, sewing boxes, lamps, rugs, and a collection of details that evoke a different way of living day-to-day life. There are also vintage radios, coffee grinders, coal irons, marble mortars, candelabras, cameras, typewriters… and the star attraction that reminds us that this house was—and always will be—a barn for livestock: the feeding trough where the animals once ate, now converted into a very large sink for washing dishes thoroughly.
In addition to being a home, “La Quadra” can be considered a small museum displaying a collection of objects that you can enjoy at any time during your stay—though please take special care with the oldest items, which are also the most delicate. All of these items are irreplaceable today.
AND WITHOUT SACRIFICING ANY OF TODAY’S MODERN COMFORTS
Up to this point, it may seem that everything at “La Quadra” is old—and that is certainly true. However, everything is integrated into a house that was completely renovated in late 2023, using new, high-quality materials that still evoke times gone by. And, as you’d expect, these elements were designed and chosen to provide modern comforts:
Top-quality mattresses.
Air conditioning in every room and
