Pack your hiking boots and head out for a walk along the path from the village green, down to the bridge and onto the Cumbria Way. Head to Caldbeck (2.5 miles) or Sebergham (5 miles), and stroll through woodlands with valley views. Past Caldbeck, find The Howk and pretty waterfalls as you follow the river. High Pike (4.5 miles) and Carrock Fell (4 miles) can both be walked to from the door, and several other walks in the Northern Fells are within easy reach and are great hiking spots for those looking for a more challenging hike. Hop in the car and visit Bassenthwaite, Keswick and Derwentwater (all within 16.5 miles) for further amenities and tourist spots or to try your hand at boating or fishing on the lake.
