Set in a delightful countryside setting, next to a small working farm and within Dartmoor National Park, the cottage is well-situated for accessing the area’s spectacular hilly walks, rocky tors, cycle trails, wildlife and breathtaking scenery from the doorstep. The historic market town of Moretonhampstead with its independent shops, cafes, pubs, small supermarket and open-air swimming pool (seasonal) is within walking distance. Just 4 miles away is the delightful town of Chagford. The cathedral city of Exeter is 12 miles away with a wide range of amenities, including restaurants, shops, theatre and bars. Castle Drogo can be located 5 miles away. Slightly further afield, yet within 25 miles, are the historic naval city of Plymouth, numerous National Trust properties and South Hams Area of Natural Beauty.
Step inside this lovely property to find yourself in the spacious ground-floor entrance hall, boasting an attractive open wooden staircase that leads you to the large open-plan living areas. When entering the first floor from the wooden staircase you will find yourself in the welcoming king-size bedroom; a large room with a comfortable bed to relax in after exploring the local area, as well as a couple of chairs to enjoy far-reaching views with your morning coffee. This generous bedroom space also features a lovely day bed. There is a stylish bathroom, complete with a bath, separate shower cubicle and WC. Moving through the property, steps lead down into the charming and spacious open-plan living area, with beautiful, exposed beams and a wood burner to complete the Hayloft's traditional countryside feel. Relax on the sofa in front of the Smart TV to watch your favourite shows, and enjoy hearty homemade meals in the dining space, making full use of the well-equipped kitchen. The kitchen itself comprises an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and Nespresso coffee machine.
Outside to the front of the property, is parking for up to two cars in the gravelled courtyard. Guests also have use of the enclosed wildflower meadow across the courtyard to exercise your four-legged friend, or enjoy al fresco drinks at the picnic table. There is also a small, communal patio area with seating to enjoy a morning coffee in the fresh countryside air.
