About this cottage rental

This charming and unique cobb cottage is set in the quiet village of Tarrant Monkton and is the perfect escape to the country. The beautiful Tarrant Valley forms part of the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and there are many walking and cycling routes weaving through this picturesque landscape. There is a popular pub within the village or head to the market town of Blandford Forum, where you will find plenty of local amenities as well as a traditional brewery tap and riverside paths to explore. Why not take a trip to the coast and visit the sandy beaches of Bournemouth and Poole or travel inland to Wimborne Minster, the cathedral city of Salisbury or the New Forest National Park.

A gravel path leads to the entrance into this detached character cottage. Heading through the majestic front door, which dates back to the 1500's you are met with a welcoming entrance vestibule leading into the country kitchen on your right. This well-equipped space has a Smeg oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Next is a pretty single bedroom, with a useful separate shower and WC next door. From the inner hallway, a door then leads into the charming lounge/diner. This striking space is home to a beautiful inglenook fireplace complete with a wood-burner and original bread ovens as well as a TV. Steps lead up from here into a cosy snug with a TV. Heading back into the hallway you will find a flight of cottage style stairs leading to the first floor. There are two inviting bedrooms here, one double and a twin as well as a bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC. Due to the age of the property there are changes of level and areas of restricted head height including low beams and doorways throughout, which only adds to its character and charm.

Heading outside there is a peaceful and private garden mostly laid to lawn and enclosed by hedging, with a wishing well to add a little magic. You can enjoy meals and drinks at the table and chairs, or relax on the decked area on the sun loungers, all whilst admiring the tranquil setting. Off road parking for one car can be found to the side of the property. There is a garage offering a further space for one car and a utility area with tumble dryer and freezer. Please note this property has a private water supply. There is off road parking for 1 car and an additional space within the garage.
