The undisputed capital of the Costa Smeralda, Porto Cervo is an exclusive seaside village built around a cove shaped like a deer, which has become a haven for luxury holidays. In the 1960s, Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, captivated by the beauty of this stretch of coastline, decided to purchase the land in this corner of Gallura and create a paradise for elite international tourism. The new marina, with 700 berths, is now one of the largest and best-equipped in the Mediterranean, and is home to the prestigious Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, organiser of international sailing regattas.
In summer, it is easy to find yourself shopping alongside film and television stars in the prestigious boutiques in the centre of Porto Cervo, the setting for daily gatherings of the international jet set amidst parties and sporting events (golf in particular) hosted by prestigious restaurants, luxury hotels and exclusive venues.
The town is surrounded by splendid villas in the style that has become characteristic of the Costa Smeralda, and by beaches with crystal-clear waters and wind-sculpted rocks. It is, in fact, an excellent base for exploring the wonders of this stretch of coastline. Not to be missed nearby are Grande and Piccolo Pevero, Capriccioli, Liscia Ruja and Spiaggia del Principe.
Olbia Airport is 35 km from the apartment, whilst the port of Olbia is 33 km away.
