The Architect's House: a villa designed around the view
Most Kalkan villas have a sea view. The Architect's House was built so you never lose it. Set across four storeys on the hillside at Kışla, every floor opens to the Mediterranean, from the infinity pool terrace to the private roof terrace at the top of the house.
Sleeping 8 across four en-suite bedrooms, the villa combines striking architectural design with the practical comforts that make a week fly by: air conditioning throughout, fast Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen and generous outdoor living spaces for long lunches and slow evenings.
The space
The heart of the villa is the pool level: a private infinity pool that appears to spill into the bay, with sun loungers, shaded seating and alfresco dining. Inside, the open-plan living and dining space frames the sea through floor-to-ceiling glass.
The first floor is given over to the master suite, with a super-king bed, private sea-view balcony, en-suite with jacuzzi bath and walk-in shower, plus a mezzanine study if you need a quiet corner.
The second floor has two elegant doubles, one super-king and one king, each with its own large sea-view balcony and en-suite.
The top floor twin room opens directly onto a large private roof terrace with sweeping views across the whole of Kalkan Bay, arguably the best vantage point in the house.
The location
Kışla sits on the quiet eastern side of Kalkan Bay, looking back across the water to the harbour and old town. It is a peaceful, upmarket setting, a short drive or water taxi from Kalkan's renowned rooftop restaurants, boutiques and beach clubs. Kaputaş beach, one of the most photographed in the Mediterranean, is minutes away, and Patara's 18km of protected sands are within easy reach.
