This neat two-bedroom property sits on a quiet residential street in the heart of Appledore. Featuring a contemporary style and less than 100 metres from the quay, it’s a cheerful choice for a couple or small family wanting a coastal retreat with easy access to amenities.
Brilliant white walls and nautical colours sweep through the property, creating a welcoming holiday atmosphere. After a day by the seaside, rinse sand from feet and paws in the ground-floor shower room then relax on the sofa in the lounge. A charming space, it’s awash with natural light and a brick fireplace with a wood burner-effect electric fire to keep things cosy on chilly nights. A dining table and galley kitchen are at your disposal for light lunches and evening meals but if you prefer to eat out, it’s a pretty 200-metre stroll to the nearby restaurants. Once you’ve enjoyed a good meal, head up the cottage-style staircase and enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep in the serene double or single bedroom. In the morning, step into the enclosed courtyard and enjoy a casual breakfast at the intimate bistro table. There’s also roadside parking (150 metres) that is subject to availability.
Appledore is a pretty fishing village with a good selection of dog-friendly pubs and restaurants. Explore the narrow streets and discover galleries, artist’s studios, and the maritime museum. At the quayside, be sure to stop for some locally made ice cream. From Appledore, it’s 3 miles to Westward Ho! where you can swim and surf. Alternatively, head to the historic port of Bideford (3 miles) and explore the Tarka Trail on foot or bicycle.
