Set on the fringes of postcard-worthy Ambleside, this welcoming end-of-terrace cottage sleeps three guests across two bedrooms and is perfect for couples and small families exploring the Lake District. The host village of Ambleside charms with its wealth of local pubs and cafes. In and around the village, popular spots include The Bridge House – one of the most photographed locations in the Lake District – and the dramatic Stock Ghyll Force waterfall (0.5 miles). You'll also enjoy easy access to the famous Lake Windermere, with its northern shoreline sitting just 1 mile away. From here, you can board a lake cruiser from Waterhead Pier and enjoy the scenic journey down to Bowness-on-Windermere (6 miles). When in Bowness, make sure to visit the popular World of Beatrix Potter Attraction. For days of scenic walking, the dramatic summits of Wansfell Pike, The Old Man of Coniston, and Todd Crag are all within 9 miles.
Step off the quiet village street and into the welcoming hallway of this charming cottage, where you'll find room to kick off your muddy walking shoes. Turn right into the sleek and light-filled lounge to rest after days of outdoor adventure; sink into the soft seating, flick on the Smart TV, and bask in the glow of the flame-effect electric fire. When stomachs begin to rumble, gather the local produce you sourced during the day and move through to the colourful kitchen/diner, where you'll find everything needed to cook up and enjoy Lakeland feasts. As eyelids begin to droop, head up to the first floor to choose from two pretty bedrooms: a master double with fell views and a cosy single room overlooking the rear courtyard. Serving the bedrooms and completing the home is a family bathroom with a shower over the bath.
Step outside to breathe in the fresh Lakeland air. To the front of the cottage is a small space with potted plants – perfect for your morning coffee – while a shared courtyard sits to the rear, with access to private bike storage. You'll also benefit from an on-street parking permit for one car.
