Franklin Hotel

Excellent location. Great breakfast. Clean tidy rooms.

No parking but plenty in Bonny street just down the road.

Breakfast was incredible and cooked fresh,all the other reviews are correct. Owners were really helpful,if you had a problem dont be afraid to go and tell them, they'll help as fast as they can and fix whatever needs fixing. Walking distance to the beach and to the town centre very easy to get too.

Quilt was a little too warm. Rooms need a twice over when cleaning

Location was good. Breakfast is cereal, tea/coffee, orange juice and personalised cooked breakfast which is freshly made. The fried egg was particularly lovely and runny just as I like it.

Despite 2 signs outside the actual hotel stating 'secure parking' ( I googled the hotel before coming and the outside of the hotel is on multiple sites and the 'real life' image is used) however there is no such parking and therefore I had to park in a paid car park up the road- this cost was unexpected and pretty annoying to be honest. When I arrived at the hotel the smell of smoke was very strong and unfortunately it continued in my room. When I showered that evening the smell was clearly on the towels and this felt disgusting having to dry my and my daughters body in towels that smelt so awful. That night we were laid in bed and the smell of smoke on the pillows was so strong that my daughter hated it and asked to leave that night- we couldn't that night obviously however we were due to stay for 2 nights. We had breakfast and left the hotel a day/night early. I did tell the owners why we were leaving (they disagreed with my comment on smoke). I expect they will comment on this feedback but this is my experience and it is mine to share.
