Quiet Courtyard Retreat - Heart of Gjirokastër

Charming and quite unusual experience of staying out of mainstream touristic path, living in the heart of the neighborhood. Loved privacy, it's private house with own garden and entrance. House is 1 floor, on the land - no steps to climb. Kitchen, bedroom, Livingroom, WC, corridor and veranda that roofed and closed from neighbor's eyes. Absolutely nearby and accessible: supermarket, vegetables, fish shop, lots of barberies in the area. Place was tidy, has washing machine + ropes for laundry, all necessary chemistry to keep place clean. We didn't meet owners personally, but they were always accessible by whatsapp, attentive and honest. Pleasant experience indeed. Key is in keybox - which is the best. Few bakeries, banks and city bus stop - in short walking distance. Central bus station (for intercity travel) - walking distance on flat surface. We staid for a whole week and had possibility to explore Gjirokastër in informal way. Walk to the Old City is short, but pretty steep - all the way up. The castle - even upper. Everything is accessible by p. transport, but need a bit of patience to find how it works. Transport is incredibly low-priced, so it is good solution for ones who has difficulty to walk and also for tired or lazy ones . Shower: excellent water-stream, one of the best ever experienced in rented apartments & hotels. Hot water - boiling, unlimited. It's traditional for the region 'wet shower' (without cabin) - if you travelled in Albania and around before - you know this idea. In the bathroom - window - to dry the room after use and threshold that separate bathroom from the corridor. Good bright light in the house, kitchen, big refrigerator. All was clean - NO bad smells or insects. Neighborhood was quiet, even schools, bars and football stadium are right near. In general - very positive experience and if we ever in Gjirokastër again - will be happy to return to this small house. Dear host !

Bardzo dobra lokalizacja, wszędzie blisko. Na miejscu wszystko co potrzebne, dobrze wyposażona kuchnia, jest też pralka i mała weranda przed domem. Czysto i wygodnie. Samochód parkowaliśmy koło domku albo w uliczce, trochę wyżej.

It is a one-bedroom private house, very cozy and clean. Everything is near,located in the center of Gjirokastra. It offers self check-in. Everything needed in the house. It has washing and drying machine for clothes.

Adoramos a nossa estadia nessa pequena casa. É bem localizada, somente a 10 minutos caminhando do terminal de ônibus e próxima a avenida que passam os ônibus para a parte alta (turística). Depois para voltar são somente 15 minutos caminhando em descida. A casa estava muito limpa e está muito bem equipada, com cozinha completa, máquina de lavar e secadora, varal externo, sala com smart tv com Netflix, YouTube, etc., ar condicionado, bom chuveiro, cama confortável, etc. Há um bom supermercado próximo, assim como sorveterias, restaurantes, etc. O local também é silencioso e pudemos descansar bem! O dono/pessoa responsável foi atencioso, nos permitiu deixar as mochilas na parte externa da casa antes do check in, o que ajudou muito, pois pudemos sair para conhecer a cidade. Foi uma grata surpresa, por isso decidimos ficar mais uma noite e se pudéssemos, ficaríamos ainda mais. Depois de meses viajando esse lugar foi perfeito! Altamente recomendável!
