Georgian 4BR Townhouse Terrace Near Beach - Pass the Keys

Beautiful regency bow-fronted terrace, which is conveniently situated for local amenities restaurants shops and bars. A short walk down to the beach and glorious promenade and pier. Lots of bright sunny bedrooms with clean linen and towels supplied.

Some of the furniture could do with a dust although kitchen and bathroom were super clean. The property would benefit from another bathroom to accommodate the amount of beds - swap out the sun room for a shower room for those on the upper floors. Some of the mattresses are hard and need a mattress topper.

We very much liked staying at this property and would definitely come again. It is in a great location. It's sort of Brighton Bo Ho rather than Regency elegant.

However, I think this might what people refer to as a marmite sort of place. In the interest of clarity, these are the warts and all. It is not a clean and well maintained rental property, rather it is a well used family home. It appears that at some point care had been taken in doing it up, but I fear that was some time ago. The carpets are very dirty and the lavatory is disgusting. There is only one bathroom and 2 toilets on the first floor. I was there with my husband and we took the bedroom just a few steps up from it. We had intended to have friends to stay, but the steep stairs to the further two bedrooms seemed perilous for night time use and the thought of sharing a bathroom with 6 people did not appeal. 2 of the bedrooms are definitely only suitable for children. The house needs some maintenance, for example the sitting room lights continually tripped the fuse and the mortice lock on the front door was very difficult to use to the point that we nearly had to go to a hotel one night (both issues have been reported). The kitchen has some good quality equipment. However, there were a lot of bits missing, such as a tin opener, serving spoons, scissors etc. There is a very nice terrace at the top of the house which is a sun trap. Unfortunately it does not have any furniture and so we could not make use of it. The price was fair for 6 adults and 3 children, but obviously more for just my husband and I. Personally I would not want to be there with that number of people, apart from the bathroom issue, there is limited seating in the TV room and I think that it would feel rather cramped. I know this house is for sale so I am not sure how long they will want to rent it for, but we would definitely go again. We enjoyed its quirkiness.
