About this cabin rental
THE PROPERTY
The Lodge is an open-plan space, with a kitchen/dining area, sitting room and bedroom all in one, and a separate bathroom area. The light and airy space is chic, modern and tasteful, designed and decorated with relaxation and comfort in mind. The Lodge was completed in May 2022 by a team of speciality builders and carpenters that have worked to an extremely high standard, so there is no Lodge in the country quite like ours.
ACCESS
Guests will be able to access the Lodge, the jacuzzi and patio area, the parking area and the whole of the forest as you so please. We ask you to not use the side gate or the electric gate to enter the main house at any time due to our little dog, Rico.
LOCATION
You`re tucked deep inside Thetford Forest, a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest where the only building in sight is your hosts` own home. Woodland trails start right at the gate, and it`s roughly a 30-minute walk to Lynford Arboretum and Lakes, with its towering Sequoia Avenue and a shepherd`s hut selling tea and cake. Mundford village is a few minutes away for a meal at the 17th-century Crown Hotel. The Brecks is known for peace, big skies and rare birds like crossbills and hawfinches, and you may even catch horses swimming in the lakes. Center Parcs Elveden is around 15 minutes away and the Norfolk coast about 30, so there`s plenty when you fancy a change of scene.
GETTING AOUND
This is a rural spot and you`ll want a car to make the most of it. There`s private parking right beside the lodge, and the area`s walks, villages and attractions are all a short drive away. Brandon station is about a 5-minute drive, with trains to Cambridge and inexpensive all-day parking. The forest is wonderful for cycling too, from gentle lanes between villages to the mountain-bike trails at High Lodge, around 10 minutes away.
YOUR HOSTS
Jennifer and Tim, your two hosts, built the main house from the ground in 1997, creating a beautiful home in the heart of the forest. Over the years, hundreds of guests, passers-by and locals have commented on the idyllic, ethereal beauty of the location, which inspired the building of the Lodge, which commenced in November 2021. We are excited to share a piece of our home with you, that we truly believe is stand-alone in its epic location. Well behaved small dogs are very welcome.
GOOD TO KNOW
This is a compact open-plan studio with the bed, sofa, and kitchen all in one room, so it suits a couple rather than guests wanting separate spaces. Maximum 2 guests with no additional visitors, and no parties or events. The hosts live in the main house behind the lodge; please don`t use the side gate or electric gate, as they have a small dog.
OPTIONAL EXTRAS
Well behaved small dogs are welcome at £50 per dog per stay, up to a maximum of 1, so please include any dog when you book. Early check-in or late check-out can be arranged for £40, subject to availability.
