From the pedestrian zone on the lower part of Strandstraße, everything you need for a perfect North Sea island vacation is just a few steps away. An ideal starting point for every day—whether you’re heading to the beach, out into nature, to a restaurant, the train station, or for some shopping.
And after a lovely day at the beach, you can relax and soak up the sun in front of the house while simply watching the colorful hustle and bustle in the pedestrian zone.

At the same time, the building’s charming character—dating back to 1893—has been preserved and is evident to visitors in many places, such as the beautiful and well-preserved exposed beams on the 2nd floor, the exposed brick wall in the stairwell, the entryway with its distinctive tiles, and much more.
The “Riffgat” apartment, measuring approximately 38 m², is located on the first floor of the rear building and is thus part of the “new wing” of STRAND HAUS 10.
Featuring high-quality oak parquet flooring throughout, the spacious, U-shaped brand-name kitchen—complete with a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker, and all necessary utensils—leaves nothing to be desired. The countertop, which extends slightly into the living area, creates a bar-like atmosphere.
The balcony is accessible from the living room and offers a view of Borkum’s backyards and the New Lighthouse. As darkness falls, you can watch the lighthouse’s three pairs of beams.
From the living room itself, you’ll always have a view of the lighthouse—either through the kitchen window or the “lighthouse-viewing window” built in specifically for this purpose.
The living room features an L-shaped sofa with a Recamier that can also be used as a sleeper sofa for two people (140 cm wide). From here, a staircase leads up to the attic, where you’ll also find a sleeping area. (Please note: the staircase is only suitable for children 12 and older.) This area is also a wonderful retreat for your kids—and, of course, it features a skylight and natural daylight.
The living room features a 55-inch smart TV (internet-only, no linear TV)—off the living room is the bedroom with a double bed (160 cm wide). The bathroom, with a spacious shower (90 x 120 cm) and stylish fixtures, opens off the hallway.
The “Riffgat” offers many other thoughtful details—the LED lighting creates a cozy atmosphere.
