Town: Dersingham is one of the largest villages in the Borough of King's Lynn and West Norfolk. It is situated on the outskirts of the Royal Sandringham Estate with its impressive house, church and gardens which are open to the public, plus nearby are the plant farm, tea rooms and gift shop at Norfolk Lavender, England's premier lavender farm. Dersingham has many local amenities and is served by a Post Office, two supermarkets, a butcher’s shop, newsagents and takeaway outlets. The traditional Norfolk village of Snettisham is nearby characterized by the pretty golden brown houses known locally as "gingerbread houses" due to the colouring of the local iron-rich carr stone used in their construction. The RSPB reserves at Snettisham and Titchwell are within easy reach as is the North Norfolk Coast including the family-friendly seaside resort of Hunstanton, well worth a visit. An excellent base for touring North Norfolk and its many delights.
