About this house rental
Mornings here start with coffee by the water. Afternoons are for exploring your own acreage — creek frontage, a private pond, an old barn, and a long private driveway that set this property apart from a typical vacation rental; it feels more like a secluded mountain estate. Evenings end in the hot tub under the stars or around the smokeless fire pit.
Inside, every detail was chosen the way we'd want it ourselves when traveling: handcrafted furnishings, hotel-quality mattresses and linens, a fully equipped kitchen built for cooking a real meal for the whole group, and warm gathering spaces throughout. Two primary suites both featuring king sized beds and private ensuite baths, a 3rd bedroom with a queen bed, a 4th bedroom with 2 twin XL beds, a queen pull-out sectional in the living room, and a 3rd full guest bath give families and groups the privacy and flexibility they need — comfortably sleeping up to 10.
Spend your days hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway, fishing nearby trout streams, floating the French Broad River, or exploring Asheville's restaurants, breweries, galleries, and music scene — or don't leave the property at all. The land changes with the seasons, so no two stays look quite the same. Either way, you'll have somewhere worth coming back to each evening.
Guest access: You'll have the run of the entire home, with the exception of a locked owner's closet in the basement — the basement itself is accessible for laundry and trash disposal only. Check in anytime after 3 PM using the smart keypad; you'll receive your unique code and full instructions before arrival. One note on local wildlife: because black bears are active in the area, trash isn't stored outdoors — full disposal instructions are in the house manual.
Other things to note: Benfield Mountain Retreat is a new listing, but hospitality isn't new to us. We own and manage multiple vacation homes, have nearly two decades of experience helping people buy, sell, and care for homes, and have deep roots in the Ballard Branch community. We recently took on this property to create the mountain escape we'd always wanted to stay in ourselves, and we provide responsive local support if anything ever needs attention during your stay.
Some places are simply where you sleep. This one was created to be part of the trip itself — leaving you rested, reconnected, and already planning your next visit.
