It was in this building, located at Rua Jardim do Tabaco, No. 98, that António Silveira rented his first office as a customs broker in 1974. In early 1990, he purchased the building and has since dedicated himself to improving it.
His daughter and sons created the 98Alfama brand. Each apartment offers an authentic experience in a welcoming, refined space steeped in history.
This apartment is located in a building constructed in the late 18th century and subsequently renovated, situated in the Alfama neighborhood of Lisbon, on flat ground and very close to the Tagus River, 1.1 km from Terreiro do Paço (the historic center) and 500 m from the metro station (23 minutes from the airport).

The apartment has been completely renovated and features: a living and dining room with a sofa, a 58-inch TV, and a dining table for 6 people; 1 bedroom with a king-size bed (180x200 cm) and a TV; 1 bedroom that can accommodate two single beds or a queen-size bed (160x200 cm); 1 bedroom with a single bed and a workspace, 1 bedroom with a single bed, a fully equipped kitchen (stove, oven, fridge-freezer, washer-dryer, dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso machine, toaster, electric kettle, iron, ironing board, and clothesline), and two bathrooms with showers, with Wi-Fi coverage throughout.

The building and the apartment are easily accessible, as they are located near the Tagus River on flat ground and on a street with easy access; the building also features a modern elevator.
Although there is no on-site parking, paid parking is readily available nearby.
It’s quick and easy to contact the owners via VRBO’s messaging system between 8 a.m. and midnight.
If you need to contact them outside of those hours, a mobile number is provided for emergency calls.
Due to the building’s energy-saving measures, there are no gas-fired systems, either for cooking or for water heating.
Hot water is provided by a 120-liter storage water heater. We recommend using hot water sparingly and quickly to avoid running out.
The building is old, having been built in the late 18th century. Despite the improvements made to the property, it still has some limitations, particularly regarding complete soundproofing (for example, the wooden floorboards make noise when walked on).
Bedroom 2 can be configured with a queen-size bed (160 x 200 cm) or two separate single beds. The guest must notify us in advance of the preferred option.
Cleaning is performed at checkout to prepare the apartment for the next check-in. During your stay, the guest may request additional cleaning upon prior arrangement with us and for a fee to be communicated (depending on the type of cleaning required).
