About this house rental

Loon Call sits on three wooded acres at the edge of Seal Cove, with sweeping views of the water and Bartlett Island beyond. It is quiet out here in the best possible way. The kind of quiet where you notice the loons before you notice anything else, and where the pace of the day naturally slows down.

The western side of Mount Desert Island is a different experience than Bar Harbor. Less crowded, more local, and surrounded by the kind of nature that does not feel curated. You are 23 minutes from Bar Harbor, 20 minutes from the Cadillac Mountain entrance to the Park Loop Road, and just minutes from Long Pond for kayaking, swimming, or simply sitting at the water's edge.

The First Floor

The main living space centers around a large open kitchen and living room with soaring cathedral ceilings. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for a real family dinner, not just the basics. Two large french doors open onto the deck, where there is seating for six with expansive views over Seal Cove and Bartlett Island. A side porch off the kitchen has a grill for evenings outside.

The king suite on the first floor is its own private retreat, complete with a coffee bar, a separate entrance from outside, and direct access to the deck. A second queen bedroom shares a full bathroom with the king suite.

Off the main living area you will find a laundry room and a generous mud room, perfect for stashing bikes, kayaks, and whatever else you brought along for the adventure.

The Second Floor

The second floor is open loft-style with cable railings looking over the living room below, giving the whole space an airy, connected feel. Up here you will find a flexible office nook and a modular couch that works as additional sleeping space.

The primary king suite takes up the rest of the second floor and does not disappoint. It features an ensuite with a walk-in shower with two shower heads, jack and jill sinks, and a walk-in closet with a second washer and dryer. French doors open onto a private deck, your own quiet perch above the trees.

Your Hosts

We do live on the property in our Airstream, away from the house, but we are fully committed to the "this is your vacation" mindset.

You might spot us outside working on a project, walking our dogs, or hanging by the campfire, but we will give you plenty of space to settle in and enjoy. We are here if you need anything, and otherwise we will stay out of your way.

This is three acres of peace and quiet. Come decompress.
