Vancouver east downtown queen bed room share bathroom

The location was good for me--I walked from Pacific Central Station to the lodging (~15 min) and from the lodging to downtown Vancouver (~35 min). Communication with the owner was good. Accessing the property and my room was easy with the provided codes. My room was on the second floor. The room was basically and adequately appointed and clean, and surprisingly quiet considering it faced Princess Avenue. Indoor slippers were provided. The bathroom down the hallway was basic and clean, and included a bathtub with a shower, toilet, and a sink. This property is located about one block from Dosanko Japanese restaurant, a place I wanted to visit for dinner.

It is worth noting for travelers that this property is located near East Vancouver's "skid row." However, this did not significantly bother me as I had read Dr. Gabor Maté's books and had some familiarity with the area. What I didn't like was that the price point ($157.07 USD/$220.40 CAD all in for one night) provided a poor value (or something less than a fair price) in my opinion. The cleanliness of the property is important to acknowledge, but the amenities provided were 'adequate,' and the neighborhood is rough around the edges.

Clean, practical, well-situated and reasonably-priced accommodation. Comfortable bed and nice room. Allen was super accommodating. They even offer to lend you a bicycle!

My room was right next to the bathroom so a little noise but very manageable. Hastings area is affected by homelessness but you are not on the main street so a bit more secluded
