105 Kealia by VacaMaui

I really wanted to like this condo. The location is lovely and it was remarkably quiet, which I appreciated, but unfortunately there were far too many problems with unit 105 for me to recommend it. The biggest issue for me was the bed. The mattress was extremely soft and bouncy and was very uncomfortable to sleep on. I also had difficulty with the bedroom temperature (stifling hot) and had to request a fan, which took quite a while to arrive. There were also numerous maintenance issues during my stay. One of the stove burners did not work properly, the dishwasher behaved oddly and would turn on for no reason, a closet door came off its track, and there was an issue with the washer/hot water cycle. There was also a water outage during my stay. Individually some of these things might have been minor inconveniences, but together they made the condo feel poorly maintained. I had a mouse in the unit. For a ground-floor condo, I also did not feel particularly comfortable with the privacy/security of the unit, especially when I wanted ventilation and it felt unsafe to leave bedroom windows open. There were things I liked. The condo was very quiet, the beach location is beautiful, and the unit had a generous supply of beach equipment. The shower was amazing! However, I spent much of my time there dealing with problems in the condo rather than simply being able to settle in and enjoy being there. Given the number of maintenance issues and my experience with the bed and the mouse, I would not stay in unit 105 again.
