To the outskirts of the town sits one of the largest man-made lakes in Europe in the Rutland Water Nature Reserve which offers watersports, a small water adventure park, a bird watching fair, sailing club and fishing facilities for you outdoor people. There is also Rutland Water Golf Course overlooking the lake. The Midlands is packed with lovely towns and cities that are worth visiting, the train station in Oakham offers access to places such as Nottingham and Leicester with their great shopping and stunning buildings.
