The town of Tating is a state-recognized resort with a total area of approximately 3,000 hectares. Surrounded by the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park, the village of Tating is located on the Eiderstedt Peninsula, about 5 km east of Sankt Peter-Ording. Tating has its own train station on the DB Regio line between Husum and Sankt Peter-Ording, and can be reached by car directly via Federal Highway 202.
