There's something special about a house that has been carefully designed and thought through down to the last detail. You feel it in the air, in the spaces, in the way everything seems to be exactly where it belongs.
Baita Valmalenco is our most personal project. We — Inga and Benedikt — designed it ourselves and shaped every detail: clean, contemporary architecture, high-quality materials, and a warm, sheltered atmosphere that doesn't need excess to move you. It's our home in the mountains — and now we're sharing it with you.
The baita sits at 900 m elevation in Torre di Santa Maria, just 5 minutes from Chiesa in Valmalenco — the main village of the Valmalenco valley in Valtellina, northern Italy. The setting is deliberately quiet: barely any traffic, meadows, forest, and mountain views that welcome you from the very first moment. Up to 8 guests sleep across two bedrooms, with a generous open-plan living area on the upper floor and a fireplace that becomes the heart of the house in winter.
After a long day on the slopes or the trails, the private sauna is waiting — the perfect way to ease tired muscles and find warmth again. The panoramic terrace is where time slows down: breakfast in the morning sun, an evening drink as the peaks of the Valmalenco glow in the last light. The kitchen is fully equipped — because a good meal after a day in the mountains is part of the adventure.
And outside, everything is on your doorstep. The ski area of Chiesa in Valmalenco is 5 minutes away by car. Hiking trails into the peaks of the Valmalenco start right at the front door. The valley is authentic and still largely untouched by mass tourism — which is exactly why we chose it.
