La Sciuscella

La Sciuscella is truly fantastic. From all the help beforehand and during our stay from the incredibly helpful owner Anna to Fiorentina who checked us in, we knew our stay was going to be wonderful. The house is exactly as pictured, if not better. The property has everything we could have asked for (including very good air conditioning as it was exceptionally hot when we visited) and more! The views were absolutely sensational both from the terrace and also the side. That bedroom window picture may look photoshopped but amazingly it isn't, it truly is that incredible. We were booked in for a 3 night stay as part of a wider Italy road trip and we're kicking ourselves for not booking for longer. It truly is a gem of a property and we would definitely love to use it as our base for a future Amalfi coast tour. A little about the local area, Conca dei Marini is a lovely quiet town on the Amalfi Coast without the craziness of its neighbours but easily connectable if you want the hustle and bustle. We only managed to visit a couple of restaurants in the town, La Piazza del Nino (a five minute walk up the stairs) was the standout for us, Le Bonta del Capo up the road from there had lovely views but felt a little like a tourist trap. We also visited La Botega del Corso, a wonderful family run ceramic shop up the road from Nino's.

I don't like how good it is that I can't wait to go back!

Eine spektakuläre Lage und ein fantastischer Ausblick. Dieses pittoreske Tinyhaus ist eine perfekte Unterkunft für Paare und garantiert einen traumhaften Aufenthalt. Auch der Außenbereich mit einer beschatteten Terrasse garantiert entspannte Tage. Fußläufig sind ein kleiner Supermarkt und sehr gute Restaurants erreichbar. Aber Achtung, natürlich will alles via den typischen Treppengängen erobert werden. Jegliche Unternehmungen halten also fit. Man gelangt zu Fuß auch zu einem zauberhaften Strand, nebst kleinen Restaurants. Ganz großes Kompliment an die Besitzerin, die uns nach einer zu weit geratenen Busfahrt aufgegriffen hat. Das ist wahrlich nicht selbstverständlich. Vielen Dank dafür.

La terrazza ha una vista spettacolare da un lato su Amalfi dall’altra sul mare! Bellissima!

Mi è piaciuto tutto!

A small, cosy detached house, very clean and well presented. Nicely furnished and well equipped. It has a nice private terrace. We were pleased to find a bottle of wine and Croissants on our arrival. About 310 steps to reach the property from the main bus stop. There is a local bus but we didn’t wait for it, we took the steps. There are also many steps beyond the small house if you need a mini-mart or a pizza restaurant locally. The owner’s agent kindly picked us up from the bus stop at the Belvedere Hotel on arrival.

A kettle would be a good addition to the kitchen in our opinion. A couple of extra pillows would be great as the pillows were very flat. We found the mattress a bit hard for our liking. WiFi was slow at times and disconnected often during our stay. Our own phones didn’t get a good connection in the area. Lighting in the living/kitchen area was very bright as they are fluorescent lights. We didn’t use the terrace because of a very loud barking dog at the next house, nor did we open windows as we would not have been able to sleep. It was non stop after about 5pm. We did let the owner know and she understood our concern and tried to have it stopped but this was not successful. We stayed in great places in Naples, Positano and Capri and each were perfect, so we were not being uber fussy. Although a very lovely location not quiet or relaxing for us.
