R3HL Double room near city and airport

The house was somewhat clean, the bed was comfortable, & the location was close to the bus stop. The price was decent, too. We ran into the neighbor, who was sweet & understanding of us being there. The pub a few bus stops away, the Fox & Hounds, was top-notch!

I asked the owner about Wi-Fi. He never answered me. The room was advertised as having Internet, but the only thing available was a paid weekly plan over an external Internet provider. The room was clean & comfortable, but the bed had a weird pit in it. There was also no soap in the bathrooms, although wee travel-size shower gel was provided. On the last night, the door handle of another guest room was clearly broken. I wasn't worried about security (the couple of people we met were honest, good people) but it wasn't a great look for the guestroom. It's also nowhere "near" the airport. It takes you over an hour by train/bus. This is was advertised as a hostel. It's not a hostel. It's a shared guesthouse in a council estate, a private Air BnB of dubious legality. Everything was safe & clean enough, we didn't overpay, we felt comfortable there--so I'll still give it a decent rating. But this wasn't quite as advertised & if I could do it over, I wouldn't book here again. I really, really don't like being the person to complain, but this place was just...questionable. Again, pretty sure it wasn't legal for us to be there.
