It is a private villa, we had a very good stay. Peaceful ambience, really enjoyed the fishing and the boating experience. Food requirements need to be informed them in advance to avoid delay. The property caretaker was so helpful.

The backwater boating experience was truly enjoyable, and I especially loved the fishing and boating activities. A beautiful, spacious traditional Kerala house that appears to have been renovated with modern comforts while retaining much of its original charm and character. The property is massive, with two bedrooms, one downstairs with a large bed and another upstairs with two single beds. Both bedrooms have working air conditioning. There's plenty of space throughout the house, ample parking and a secure gated compound. One of the nicest features is the small backwater canal running directly in front of the property. It's a lovely place to sit in the evening and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The house itself has plenty of character and the setting is beautiful. Good breakfast! Bottled water is provided

The house is beautiful, but basic maintenance and cleanliness fall well short of expectations, especially for the price. Water pressure was almost nonexistent in both bathrooms. Showers were frustrating and sometimes there was no pressure in taps until the caretaker switched it on. The bathrooms were poorly cleaned: a fluffy bath mat was left soaking wet, water covered the sink, toilet and flush button and hair was left around the floor drain. There was no soap holder, so toiletries had to sit on the floor. The low shower curtain rail was also easy to bang your head against. There was no soap provided, just what looked like leftover shampoo from previous guests. The towels were yellowed and stained, so we used our own. Most electrical sockets didn't work properly, making phone charging difficult. Wi-Fi was slow but usable. The large hall has no ceiling fan and its lone pedestal fan barely helps; only bedrooms have AC. The TV is oddly placed in the downstairs bedroom's walking wardrobe area rather than the living room. Loud music from a nearby temple ran from about 5 AM to 8 PM during our stay, making sleep difficult, though this was outside the host's control. The uncovered well could be unsafe for children, insects make sitting outside at night difficult, and there are no nearby restaurants—only a small snack shop. Arrange meals in advance. A lovely heritage house with real potential, let down by poor upkeep and inadequate essentials.
