I had a wonderful stay at Kalappura Homestay, one of the best homestays I had during my time in India. The place feels very welcoming and home.
Jose and his family are incredibly kind, friendly, and always happy to help. Their hospitality made the stay truly special.
The location is peaceful and ideal for resting, and the backwaters tour they offer is really beautiful and definitely worth doing.
I highly recommend staying at Kalappura Homestay if you’re visiting the area. It’s a warm, authentic experience.

Lovely homestay with a lovely family and helpful and kind staff. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable for me. The breakfasts and dinner I had were so delicious and loads of food! There is a shared kitchen with a fridge you can store anything that needs to stay cold. I totally recommend the sunrise boat trip, I went twice! The neighbourhood is residential and an easy walk into town. Amazing value for money. Jose and Teena are available any time and are very helpful.
My room was a little dark but that is likely just my love of natural light and there are other more brightly lit rooms to choose from. The room stayed cool which was a benefit. I would definitely recommend staying here!

The property was in a great location and had everything needed for a relaxing and homely stay, there are waters and beers in the kitchen which can also be used and it’s close to lots of shops and about a 20 minute walk or 5 minute tuk tuk to the beach -Jose the host and his family are really warm and kind, Miss Teena and staff made my stay feel like I was home from home. Jose organised a beautiful backwater tour for me on my last day which was amazing ☀️
