The Turnip Barn is a converted barn in the village of Witton Gilbert in County Durham. It provides you with three en-suite bedrooms, including two king-size bedrooms and one twin room, there is also a cloakroom, all together the cottage can sleep six people. Inside it also includes a kitchen/diner and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. To the outside, there is plenty of off-road parking and an enclosed rear lawn garden with furniture. The Turnip Barn is a beautiful cottage; its traditional features give it a homely feel.
The Neighborhood:
Situated in one of the most beautiful counties of England, Durham city is one of the jewels in England’s crown. Dominated by the historic centre, a World Heritage Site, the city is home to magnificent Durham Cathedral, with its breath-taking vaulted ceiling and splendid architecture. The cathedral, the final resting place of the Venerable Bede, is one of the finest examples of Norman architecture in the whole of Europe. Durham Castle stands side by side with the cathedral, on a prominent hilltop site, encircled by the wooded slopes of the River Wear below. The city itself offers elegant buildings and fascinating narrow streets with excellent shopping, eating and drinking to suit all tastes.
