The charming town of Newburgh (2 miles) has all your essentials and is home to Lindores Abbey Distillery, where you can take a guided tour and discover Scotland’s whisky-making heritage. Animal lovers should take a trip to the Scottish Deer Centre (7 miles), where you can join a range of family-friendly activities. Take a step back in time, at Falkland Palace (8 miles), a beautifully preserved royal residence with magnificent gardens. A little further afield, the historic town of St Andrews (18 miles) makes for a brilliant day out, offering sandy beaches, medieval ruins, boutique shopping, and of course, the famous golf course. Don’t miss a drive through the East Neuk of Fife, dotted with picturesque fishing villages and hidden coves.
