Experience has shown that families with children use the kitchen quite frequently. If you’d like to eat out, we recommend the restaurant at the Alte Bahnhof in Gemen Dorf and Estia, which serves Greek-Mediterranean cuisine in Gemenwirthe. Both of these restaurants are a short distance from the vacation rental.
There’s also a grocery store with a bakery nearby for quick shopping.
If you have something to celebrate, Borken’s dining scene is well-suited for the occasion. Unfortunately, parties and celebrations are not permitted in the vacation rental.
The network of bike paths in the Münsterland region is well-developed. Access to the Borken-Bocholt Aasee Bike Path is right nearby. Bike tours through the Zwillbrocker Venn and Vardingholter Venn nature reserves are very beautiful. Or take a trip to the nearby Netherlands through the Achterhoek region all the way to Winterswijk and Lake Meddo. The castles and fortresses route, starting at the Jugendburg in Gemen, is also a favorite among guests. Hikers will find numerous trails in the Hohe Mark nature reserve, on the Lünsberg/Fliegerberg, and in the Sternbusch. The Pröbsting-See recreational area in Borken, with its many leisure activities, is easily accessible by bike or on foot. There you’ll find a climbing forest, mini-golf, pedal boats, and a large playground. If you’re looking for some fun in the water, the Pröbsting-See swimming beach and the Aquarius leisure and adventure pool in Borken are the places to go.
