Wake up and breathe in the fresh sea air at this wonderful cottage, perfectly positioned on the rocky headland at Porthminster Point. Sleeping six people across three bedrooms, this cottage is perfect for families or groups of friends who are looking for a bright and cheerful bolthole to call home while they discover the beautiful seaside town of St Ives together. Pack up a picnic and spend the day at Porthmeor Beach, which is known for its golden sands and surf-friendly waves. In the evening, come home to unwind in the cottage’s beautiful three-tiered garden, fire up the BBQ, and dine alfresco as you take in the breathtaking sea views.
Park your car in the parking area (there’s room for two cars) and head towards this gorgeous detached cottage. Step inside and you’ll be greeted by an inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area, which boasts characterful vaulted ceilings and fresh, coastal-themed decor. Slip onto the sofa and take in the views through the floor-to-ceiling windows, before heading to the sleek kitchen area to whip up some dinner. Gather everyone together to eat at the stylish dining table, or step out into the three-tiered garden to enjoy a fun al fresco dinner. Afterwards, head up to the garden’s terrace to take a relaxing dip in the hot tub while you enjoy the picture-perfect view of St Ives. Alternatively, make your way back to the lounge area to savour a glass of wine by the wood burner. At the end of the day, retreat to one of the cottage’s three beautiful bedrooms. One features a super-king-size zip-and-link bed (which can be made into a twin on request) and offers sea views through French doors that open out into the garden. It also has a sleek en-suite wet room with a rainfall shower. Walk down the hallway and you’ll find a lovely double bedroom overlooking Porthminster Beach and St Ives, as well as a generous super-king-size bedroom with its own balcony. All bedrooms are conveniently positioned close to the large family bathroom, which has a walk-in shower.
Take a stroll through the charming Downalong area (1.5 miles) of St Ives, which features narrow cobbled streets and traditional granite fishermen's cottages, or head to the bustling St Ives Harbour (2 miles), which has a working fishing fleet that offers boat trips to Seal Island. Alternatively, browse the contemporary art collection at the Tate St Ives (1.5 miles), a renowned art gallery overlooking Porthmeor Beach.
