Location:
Le Petit Citronnier sits in the heart of the small and characterful village of Maillane, offering a wonderfully authentic base for discovering Provence. Surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and the soft limestone landscapes of the region, the setting feels quintessentially Provençal while remaining extremely well connected. Avignon, home to the iconic Pont d’Avignon, the Palais des Papes and a wealth of history, is just twenty minutes away, while the ever-popular Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is only a ten-minute drive. Renowned for its links to Van Gogh, Saint-Rémy buzzes with excellent restaurants, a lively market and independent boutiques. The surrounding countryside is dotted with vineyards, many of which welcome visitors for tastings, often free of charge, making this an ideal area for wine lovers. The Alpilles National Park lies close by and is one of the region’s most beautiful areas for hiking and cycling, with dramatic views and quiet rural routes. The nearby village of Eygalières is also well worth a visit, known for its charming market and excellent dining scene. Back in Maillane itself, guests will find a bakery, pharmacy, local shop and restaurants all within walking distance, with tennis and padel courts and several excellent golf courses just a short drive away.
