That was our first visit to Madrid and we’ve booked the apartment well in advance. After check-in we realized that instead of our booked (and fully paid!) One-bedroom apartment we live in another one (for three people) and we were not even informed about this change. That could be even ok, BUT there was a terrible strong smell of sewage, mould and the space is not ventilated. I have a mould allergy and informed the manager immediately, so I was taking pills and suffering for 3 days. In addition, we noticed a couple of cockroaches in the bathroom. The AC was just the opposite the sofa bed and cold air was directly coming on the person sleeping there, so there was no chance to use it. Also it needs maintenance, we saw lots of ancient dust inside the AC filter. The manager was in permanent contact from the first touch and trying to help somehow, BUT in the end he was not able to suggest us any other options as there were no other properties available and we ourselves also didn’t find any other options on booking.com immediately available and at our budget. So we stayed there, completely disappointed and our staying there was uncomfortable- the apartment is not cozy at all. Booking.com didn’t help,btw.
