Dada in Varenna - Relaxing Lake House

Perfect location - close to the train station, walking distance from the town and lakefront restaurants, and direct access to a small private beach. Nice accommodation, everything we needed and helpful host.

The place is so nice with 2 bedrooms apartment near to the beach, ferry and all the tourist attractions. Renata the hostess is so sweet, meet us in front of the house, give us the key, show us the map, where to go for great food. Excellent service, very clean and spotless home. Oscar, the property manager always answer the phone. I will definitely come back. 10 out of 10.

nothing, except mosquitoes due to next to lake como. Mosquitoes are problem for all italy waterfront town, but we just use mosquitoes repellent. Solve all the problems.

It was so close to everything- ferry, gelato, market, etc. Perfect location! It was beautiful too! Plenty of space. The balcony was nice. The two fans were essential for comfort.

Not the owner’s fault, but since it was so very very hot, we were so uncomfortable. Access to more fans would be nice if needed. Some furniture in the main room to lay a suitcase. Access to a real freezer would have been nice, but it was fine for 2 nights.

Fantastic property. Central location, very close to ferry terminal, and close to Varenna centre. Comfortable, 1970's architect-designed apartment, in a shaded, cool setting. Spotlessly clean on arrival. Very friendly and helpful owner/host. Felt like a real home, and a offered respite from daytime heat and crowds in Varenna, a key interchange village for ferries and trains around Lake Como. Apartment has a decent front garden, and rear balcony for outdoor relaxing.

Although not the owner's fault, loud 'distant' music is played from the nearby Lido from 9am to 10pm, but no later. Also at the weekend, the road outside the property is a very busy lakeside drive for bikers/sports cars touring from Milan around Lake Como and up into the Alps; great for motoring enthusiasts! If you are self-catering, Varenna has very basic food shops and no mini-market, so shop before you arrive!
