Camp Volujak

Eine wunderschöne Unterkunft ganz oben auf einem Berg, sehr abgelegen auf einem kleinen Plateau mit einem Pool und einem wunderschönen Ausblick in die Berge. Die Häuser sind liebevoll gestaltet und sehr gemütlich. Es gibt einen zusätzlichen großen Aufenthaltsraum mit Küche. Kochen auf Herd oder Feuer. Sehr ursprünglich ein großer Kühlschrank ist vorhanden.

The owner was lovely and per request cooked us additional meals - dinner, and the second one was delightful, he also brought us lovely cheeses and eggs for breakfast- this was wonderful considering the remote location of the house, and we arrived i. the dark (too late for a shop trip which is 40minutes away).

Its location. Before our arrival, I asked the owner if the gravel road to the hut was manageable as we happened to arrive in a brand new car, and if it’s rough, I would try and arrange a transfer. He said not to worry if I drove over macadam before, which I did many times. While the road itself was manageable, it was very narrow, and has several sharp and steep bends, with branches sticking out and scraping the car. We were told - once off the main road, there is 2km of asphalt followed by 2km of gravel. This is incorrect. The road is 4.9km long and it’s all gravel, with two bits of 200m very damaged asphalt that they would probably be better off without. We stayed there for three nights, and each time we left or came back, it took us exactly 20 minutes to get to the main road. This took away from our time there. I can see that it can be a good location if you will come up, park, and not move much, and start hiking from there as there is start of one path near by. We however were a group with kids, and we needed more manageable/popular routes (we drove to Prijevoj and walked from there to the lake). I really tried to like the place, as Velibor was sweet. But the driving experience left me scared. Oh yes, the very beginning of the gravel road, where the road is tamer, starts off with a ‘wooden brigade’c an experience to drive over in its own right.
