First: the staff were all really friendly and smiling, willing to help, and they made no fuss at all both when I arrived much later than I initially planned, and when I had to check out early. Second: the terrace view is amazing. True, the hotel is not located in direct proximity to the Pyramids, however even from that distance (about 10-15 minutes by tuk-tuk or about 25-35 minutes walking) the view at the Giza Plateau and the three Pyramids was breathtaking. Third: air-conditioning. I was in Egypt/Cairo in the hottest period, in August, which means that average daily temperatures were between 36 and 42 degrees at day, and about 27-30 degrees at night. As such, a stream of fresh, cool air in the room after the oppressive heat was a blessing. Fourth: quiet. Apart from the story which I will describe in the "not liked" section, the room was sufficiently quiet to even keep the immense noise from the street, including noisy and hours-long wedding ceremonies with very loud music.
First: the elevator/lift. It is VERY small, so it only holds basically two people without any luggage (standing very close to each other) or one person with suitcases/rucksack. But the size of the elevator/lift is nothing compared to how hot it is, as there is no fan to cool it down even a bit. As a result, a 20-second ride up or down (especially up, coming back from very hot streets) was enough to sweat profusely. Second: breakfast. Yes, it is included in the price, and is probably very fine if you're staying for one or two nights. However, it was the same stuff every single day, and I must admit that it was a bit bland, rather modest, and after five or six nights it became boring; moreover the stuff that was supposed to be hot, or at least warm (scrambled eggs or hard-boiled eggs) was cold, and tea/coffee was served only on request while the usual drink was orange juice (made from concentrate, not freshly-squeezed). Third: the noise. I mentioned in the "I liked" section that the room kept the noise from the street quite well and this is true. However, for the first 10 days or so of my stay, in the adjacent room there stayed young Egyptian people who came back to the hotel every night at 3:00 or 3:30 am, waking me up as they talked loudly and laughed, and slammed the door, and walked in and out of the room several times. True, the behavour of these people is not the fault of the hotel, but I complained about that noise at least twice at the reception but not much seems to have been done about it, as this continued on until (I think) those young people checked out. Also, while the room kept the outside noise pretty well, its only window directly faced... the elevator/lift shaft, so that every time it was moving up or down, it made a bit of noise.

Breakfast mid, location hard to find
