Spacious 6BR Central Scarborough Home for Groups near Station

The house was well serviced, clean and well equipped. It is also in a prime position (5mins walk) from the rail station and a 10 min walk to South Beach. Particularly important as there is no parking at the property. Day parking nearby is available at min.£8 per day so thats worth factoring in re costs. Main problem for me - with family driving to the NE Coast from across the UK - was this parking issue and the rather unexpected deposit for breakages (there were none and we left the house as we found it). Because of difficulties with their online payment system -which kept glitching out because of its faulty code - the agents would not release the keybox security code to access the building - dispite the full rental payment being paid. This was very stressful as the family guests I was responsible for included a 96 year old and 3 under 5's. With no response to phone calls I contacted Booking.com direct and they contacted the agent who then failed to respond to them. Eventually and without apology the keycode arrived. Takeaway Upside: A lovely clean and well equipped house with a view of a charming old flour mill in a great and convenient location with v comfortable bedrooms. Issues: No parking - but tbf- great if yourre travelling by train. I did at one point think I was the victim of a scam due to the lack of response/support from the booking agents and by extension Booking com.
