The Pink House

What an amazing place to stay. Kirsten and Peter who run The Pink House are simply lovely, warm and genuinely friendly people and were perfect hosts. Exceptionally welcoming and offered every attention to detail. The property itself has amazing history, character, and was full of charm. The super friendly Polish Frizzel chickens roaming the gardens were a delight too. The breakfast was fantastic full English or Continental offered, with plenty of choice, using locally sourced food, and free range eggs from their own chickens and home-made preserves and honey from their own bees. The Room was very clean, tidy, immaculately decorated and equipped with everything you might need. Fresh milk for your hot drinks offered each day 👌 Two mindful points to note: The kingsize, deluxe bedroom I stayed in (Longley) Firstly this room has a beautiful free-standing roll top, slipper bath with overhead rainfall shower and additional hand-held shower attachment. However some quests may find the bath too high and the depth too deep and might find it difficult to get in and out of, even with the assistance of the small sturdy wooden platform/step provided. Secondly this bedroom does have a walk through bathroom. Neither of the above mentioned points being a problem for me personally. The price for my stay was very good. It was like staying at a very friendly persons house for the two nights. The city centre of Ripon is an easy 15 minute walk to get to. Fountains Abbey is just a short drive away too. The Pink House is an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area. I really cannot recommend The Pink House highly enough, if you are looking for an authentic taste of Yorkshire hospitality at its very best in or near Ripon, this is the place. A lovely place to stay with great hosts. I look forward to a return stay.

Simply the best B&B we have stayed in, Peter and Kirsten were perfect hosts. The property has amazing character and history. Peter is fantastic at telling the history of the building.........I will let him fill in the details. We were having tea at Grantley Hall and Peter very kindly took us there and offered to pick us up, what a service! The breakfast was fantastic, full English or continental, every option covered.

The property was unique, full of history, in an ideal location. Brilliant breakfast with plenty of choice. Not to mention delicious free range eggs straight from their own diverse family of chickens ( every one was different, each had their own name).The hosts: Peter and Kirsten were a joy. Offered lifts into town and races. Kept us entertained with tales of all their adventures.

The hosts were absolutely lovely and are clearly trying extremely hard to make this experience as positive as possible for their guests. We were greeted on arrival with tea and scones and introduced to the hens while sitting in a lovely garden. They were really helpful with lots of local information and general chat.

We stayed in the Deluxe King room - there is something very important to know about this room. There is a partition wall between the bed and half of the bathroom. But there are door-sized gaps at either end, so effectively the toilet is in the bedroom. Whilst this may not bother some people, it may make others feel extremely uncomfortable. Although the room is lovely and the bed was very comfortable, we definitely would not have booked had we known about this.
