Suite Kathedraalhuis

De locatie is geweldig.

De stoelen en de tafel zijn wel echt op. Dit moet vervangen worden. Tevens wordt er aangegeven dat er 2 badkamers zijn en die zijn er niet

Sehr charmante, stilvoll eingerichtete Wohnung in historischem Ambiente und allerbester Lage. Steile Treppenstufen und eine auch in den Abendstunden lebhafte Umgebung dürfen einem allerdings nichts ausmachen. Das Appartement bietet für einen Kurzaufenthalt bequem Platz für 5 Erwachsene, die Zimmer sind gemütlich und dem historischen Flair entsprechend dekoriert. Wir haben die Dachterrasse an zwei sommerlichen Abenden sehr genossen - man ist mittendrin im Trubel, aber nach dem Erkunden der abwechslungsreichen Gastronomie in der direkten Umgebung noch entspannt für sich - wir fanden das perfekt! Herzlichen Dank an Thierry, der auf Rückfragen jederzeit sehr schnell reagiert hat und sich als Vermieter sehr gut um unsere Zufriedenheit gekümmert hat! Wir würden in jedem Falle erneut buchen.

This is a very special property. Hundreds of years old, it is literally built off the side of Antwerp's awesome cathedral. It features a lovely patio in which you are literally underneath its flying buttresses. The interior uses stained glass and medieval images adding to the feeling of staying in a medieval guest house. My two kids fought over which room to stay in as they were all awesome. Despite this age, it had beautifully working A/C (which was a godsend given the heat of Europe's summer for our July 2026 visit), no issues with WiFi, and plenty of room for my family of four. And of course, being right next to the cathedral means you're also right at the heart of Antwerp's restaurant, shopping, and tourism center.

Being next to a busy square, there can be loud music and people partying right outside the windows. We happened to stay during middle-of-the-night world cup games, as well as a festival with a DJ. So it was LOUD, including in the wee-hours. (Shockingly to me, the music even intruded on mass at the cathedral. Antwerp is a special place.) Not the fault of the hosts, but something to be aware of if staying here with a family. Easily fixed with earplugs.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Suite Kathedraalhuis. It was just as charming and eclectic as the pictures show. It was the ideal spot for exploring the city. The bars below played great music to enjoy on the terrace in the evening. The kitchen suite was a fantastic surprise and I saved a lot of money by having the Nespresso in it.

As a tall guy with large feet, stairs are no joke. Both the stairs up to the suite and inside the suite are narrow and short, making carrying luggage an adventure. If you're just backpacking, it probably wouldn't be that bad, but I was in the middle of a longer trip and, unfortunately, had a larger bag.
