Amaizing view Islas Marietas

This place (and the soon to be furnished adjoining condos) make for probably the best non hotel spot you could find for the money in Punta De Mita.  It's brand new and I was pretty much the first person to stay in the top unit.  It still smells a bit like fresh drywall, but that will fade quickly. They are still working out the bugs a bit and stocking everything up, but it is going to be fantastic to the point where if I came to Mexico more often I would consider buying one of the units from them. The unofficial property manager Julian lives downstairs and is one of the nicest people you could ask to meet.  He is bilingual and will gladly answer all of your questions and even hang out with you if you want. The condos are on the water next to the public beach and a beautiful marina with a nice deck and an incredible view of the bay with Puerto Vallarta and the Marieta Islands in the distance. You will need swimming shoes as that will make it much more comfortable to walk around in the water where there are some rocks.  There are two surf tents right next to the condo so if you are looking to learn to surf this is an ideal place. If you are looking for a fancy resort this is not the place for you.  There are plenty of those for $400 to $1000 a night, but if you want a taste of real Mexico without spending thousands of dollars, it's fantastic. There is a little tienda right on the corner or you can walk three blocks to the bigger store on the main drag.  El Pescador and some of the best bars and restaurants in Punta de Mita are like four blocks away. I left my door on the third floor unlocked while I swam every day.  They are still stocking up and outfitting the kitchen, but it worked just fine for me.  There are two air conditioners and a small but functional bathroom with plenty of hot water.  The king bed is wonderful.

One of the entries to the property is through an alley with a few questionable characters and a lot of stray cats, but they don't mess with tourists and you can enter on the south side of the building by the beach to avoid all of that. The city shut down the local dive bars nearby due to problems and noise, which for me is a bit of a shame because i enjoy getting a taste of the local flavor, but I've been to a million dive bars and I like treating myself when I'm on vacation anyway. 🍹
