Great accommodation in Athens by the beach – we’d love to come back again. We arrived after midnight and the host was waiting for us to hand over the keys and say hello, which was lovely. We travelled as a family of five plus two, and it worked out absolutely perfectly – we were accommodated on the second floor; we shared an entrance hall and then each had our own flat. The flats looked just like in the photos – they really are new, clean, beautiful and smell lovely. The flats had everything we needed, and the facilities were adequate (there’s no dishwasher, but there is a washing machine). The terrace is large. The flat overlooks a nearby church, a road and a petrol station; in the distance, you can also see the sea and boats. The location is perfect – you can walk to Voula Beach, and get to the centre of Athens by public transport (tram or bus). Glyfada itself is a great neighbourhood; we felt safe there and were very happy with our stay. What’s more, there’s a well-stocked shop (groceries, toiletries) right below the flat, a greengrocer’s opposite, and two brilliant bakeries across the road. You can park for free on the street; there often wasn’t a space right outside the flat, but if you look a street or two further down, you’ll always find one. And finally, it’s absolutely brilliant that there are mosquito nets on the windows.

Athens is a bit noisy, but that’s not the accommodation’s fault. To make the flat absolutely perfect, it would have been nice to have a dishwasher (but there’s no room for one in the kitchen, and there’s a washing machine, which is more important, even though we didn’t use it). In the smaller flat, the microwave is in an unusual spot – we didn’t use it, but it’s extremely high up, so some of us (myself included) couldn’t reach it.
