Bilbao Uribarri Apartments

Overall I had a good stay. The apartment is exactly as shown in the photos: modern, clean and well maintained. The TV is brand new and smart, which was a nice touch. There also seems to be air conditioning, although I couldn't find a way to adjust it, and there is a tower fan available as well. In fairness, the apartment stays quite cool, so I didn't really need either. Despite the issues below, I still enjoyed my stay overall and would rate it 7.5/10.

The property is located on a hill, so getting there on foot can be quite tiring. Not the host's fault, but worth knowing before booking. The biggest issue was the humidity. The whole apartment felt damp. Sleeping on damp bed sheets is genuinely unpleasant, and they also had a noticeable damp smell. After 2 days, even the clothes inside my suitcase had become damp. The second issue was the access system. When I read previous reviews, I assumed everyone complaining about it simply wasn't very tech-savvy. Then I arrived and the front door wouldn't open. I had to call the hosts so they could let me in. I was told my internet connection might not be good enough, but being told that doesn't actually solve the problem. "Please ensure you have a good connection", how? I was standing right outside the building, even connected to the property's Wi-Fi, and it still happened more than once. Since so many reviews mention this, perhaps it would be worth considering the possibility that not all guests are idiots and that there may actually be something wrong with the system. The Wi-Fi locks are also very loud and can easily wake you up whenever someone enters or leaves the building. As the cleaning staff have physical keys, a backup option for guests would make sense. Noise also depends very much on who your neighbours are. My first night was perfectly quiet, but after someone checked into the apartment next door, they kept blasting reggaeton with heavy bass and shouting to each other at all hours, including in the middle of the night (as a solo female traveller, I wasn't comfortable knocking on a stranger's door to ask them to keep the noise down). Another downside is the lighting and privacy. The blackout curtains leave large gaps, so the room gets bright very early. Since the windows face the street, you also can't leave them open without people seeing inside, while you can hear everyone walking past.

Si súper bien

Le camere sono praticamente nuove e comode per 4 persone. Bagni senza bidet ma con una bella doccia. La nostra camera aveva anche l’idromassaggio. 15/20 a piedi dal centro, posizione abbastanza comodo e tranquilla.

Il sistema di apertura delle porte. Tramite un link ti mandano un bottone che apre la porta. Un po troppo dipendente dal cellulare e, sopratutto per una metà con tanti stranieri almeno una persona fisica all’arrivo per eventuali problemi sarebbe meglio.
