Rakuten STAY VILLA Hakone Gora

The location was a short 6 min walk from Gora station which is excellent. It was a great size for larger parties and provided all the perks of an onsen venue in a private setting.

Beds in Japan are notorious for being on the firmer side so those with chronic back pain found it hard to sleep on the beds. Overall that was helped with a short dip in the onsen. Might want to consider add-on options for food delivery due to limited availability in the area. This gives flexibility in case groups change their mind during their stay. Can include it as part of the pre-registration and check in process, maybe no later than 7 days prior to your stay to include add ons.

The property itself was amazing! The hot water bath was incredible and the massage chair in the main room was such a bonus after long days of walking around. Definitely would visit again!

We didn’t book the good package, assuming we could go out for dinner and find food. This was a bit of an error as the location is about a 7 minute walk (up a bit of a hill) and lots of the local shops close about 4. We ended up ordering Uber Eats (which takes a while to arrive, around an hour or so) because it comes from the bigger towns. So, if you have mobility issue, young children or don’t want to wait an hour for food delivery definitely think about the food package or consider grocery shopping in the bigger towns before arriving at the hotel.

Great amenities, very clean, great space

Very strict arrival time, no space to leave luggages on the property

Fabulous spacious property with everything you could want and more. Onsen, massage chair, bottle of wine, beers and soft drinks for the kids. Awesome accomodation

Nothing except the walk up the hill!
