About this house rental
Inside, you will find an optimal mix of comfort and style with 3 bedrooms; one with king bed, private bathroom and walk-in closet, one with queen bed, private bathroom and walk-in closet and another bedroom with twin beds and bathroom.
This house is perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach, golfing, tennis, kayaking, exploring or planning tomorrow's adventure. Climate control keeps the space comfortable year-round. Eat inside or in our unique private courtyard outside, where you can Bar B Q. The house's unique layout allows guests to be celebrating in front of the TV in the Family Room while others are quietly reading and listening to classical music in the somewhat remote Living Room
Thoughtful touches like hair dryers, iron and complete laundry facility add to your convenience and to making your holiday one to remember.
Because you are on Florida's west coast, you will be amazed by the sunsets over the Gulf. Bring a picnic to the beach or watch from the public fishing pier at Sharkey's.
Nearby Shamrock Nature Park (walking distance from our place) has public tennis and pickleball courts, playgrounds, picnic areas and a nature interpretation center. You will share walking paths with Florida Gopher Turtles. Golf courses are plentiful in the Venice area. The Intercoastal Waterway and its bays and inlets provide flat water for beginner and intermediate level kayaking. But best of all, public uncrowded sandy beaches abound in the area.
If you are a cyclist, you can ride from our house to the 20+ mile Legacy Trail, a former railway corridor, that provides you with miles of easy but scenic riding extending from Venice to downtown Sarasota. The trail passes through a variety of unique natural habitats and includes a series of interpretive signs and stop stations. Multiple trailheads provide access and other amenities. The trailhead is at the Historic Venice Train Depot, a well preserved relic from another era
Or you could ride on the 10-mile Venetian Waterway Park. The trails connect at the Venice Historic Train Depot. Both trails offer waterfront views, wildlife viewing, and easy access to beaches and downtown Venice. Venice is highly bike-friendly, featuring island loops, bridge crossings, and a dedicated community of cyclists. Area bike rentals cater to beginners, serious cyclists and everyone in between.
If you are a foodie, the Venice area won't disappoint. Whether you are looking for an authentic cafe in historic downtown Venice, upscale waterfront dining or comfortable family menus, Venice will exceed your needs and desires.
Are you a culture creature?
If you are a thespian, check out so, check out the Venice Theatre and the Venice Institute for Performing Arts (VIPA). If museums interest you, visit the Venice Museum & Archives. If art is your thing, you will like the Venice Art Center. And don't forget that Sarasota, with its Opera House and the Van Wesel Theatre, are only 30 minutes away.
For the Birds
Nobody can leave Venice without having visited the Venice Audubon Rookery where hundreds, if not thousands of birds fly in to roost every day at sunset. This not-to-be-missed natural treasure is a few minutes drive or bike ride from our house. If energy permits, go again at sunrise. It's magic.
