To the east, the 19th century viaduct towers above the river with some of the best salmon fishing in the country. Further along the river you can view a wonderful waterfall from Corby Castle, and woodland walks lead to the remains of the caves used in the 14th century. Carlisle – the Border City – is the main shopping, commercial and industrial centre in the northern half of Cumbria, with a museum, historic tours, and plenty of entertainment for you to enjoy at your own leisure.
