Cottage in Robin Hoods Bay
Reasons to book
About this cottage rental
The cottage was built in 1634 and boasts original beams, floors and fireplaces, as well as period furniture and nautical antiques. In the timber-panelled lounge the built-in ‘cathedral’ cupboard makes an eye-catching feature. Snuggle up in this atmospheric room, in front of the flame-effect gas fire in the winter, and enjoy a book, some music, the Freesat TV or a DVD. Head down to the lower-ground floor and you’ll find the kitchen/diner, which has another Freesat TV, as well as an open fire in a Yorkshire range - making this a wonderful space in which to linger after supper. On the first floor there’s a handsome family bathroom and a double bedroom (twin on request) - reached via a cottage-style staircase with no landing; the same goes for the stairs to the double bedroom on the second floor. This room, which has an en-suite WC, offers amazing views over the rooftops of the bay. Enjoy a cuppa in the shared courtyard at the front, or light the chimenea on the balcony at the back and grill something tasty.
Known for its steep and winding paths, Robin Hood’s Bay is postcard-pretty with a delight around every corner. Explore the boutique shops, the beach (great for rock pooling and fossil hunting) and the variety of places to eat, and head out on any number of scenic walks, whether along the coast path or inland on the North York Moors.
